Being an author, I naturally love reading. Fortunately, my husband and kiddos are avid readers as well. Here is what we are into this month:

For my Daughter
For my Son
For my Husband

My daughter can now read some sight word books by herself and she is absolutely loving it! This collection of non-fiction sight word readers by Lakeshore Learning really did the trick in helping her transition from phonics and sounds to full-blown book reading. I am so proud of my little girl accomplishing her goal of learning how to read 🥳

My two-year-old son has become enamored with the classic Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. He loves the escalating tension between Sam and the grumpy man that is brought to life by the funny grumpy man voice in which I read the story. By the end, the grumpy man is shouting about his ungrounded hatred of green eggs and ham, and my son is laughing uncontrollably. #BoyMom

My husband has been working on some big work projects late into the night and on weekends. For this reason, he has only been reading the Wall Street Journal and other short-form articles this month. He likes the Journal for its comprehensive and diverse business news coverage.

I am now the Master Contractor for our house renovation, so I have only had time to read permit documents and do construction related research, in addition to my usual docket of writing and picture book readings with my kiddos. What a crazy month! Homeschool starts on September 8th. Can’t wait to share what my Kindergartener and preschooler are up to this year 😝
