What are We Reading? April 2020 Edition

Being an author, I naturally love reading. Fortunately, my husband and kiddos are avid readers as well. Here is what we are into this month:

Last month, we finally bought a house in our new city. Yay! However, it is a fixer upper that will take some serious hammering, so please keep us and our contractors in your prayers please!!!

My daughter’s favorite story is ABC What Can She Be?: Girls can be anything they want to be, from A to Z” by Sugar Snap Studio. She received the book as a gift for Christmas, but just recently became obsessed with it. Now, she has memorized the book and “reads” it to her little brother (so that they can recite the book together–So silly!). Both of my kiddos have enjoyed memorizing all of the occupations in alphabetical order and hearing about different family/friends working in these different capacities. [Note: If you have to read this story to a co-ed audience, I would recommend using “he/she” instead of “she” where applicable and using this text as a way to discuss some basic gender differences from a biblical worldview.]

Girl power?

In addition to reciting “ABC What Can She Be”, my son is equally obsessed with “If You’re Happy And You Know It: Jungle Edition” by James Warhola. This beautifully illustrated book keeps the text very simple, but the easy to follow actions gets all of his wiggles out (while giving mama and papa a much needed burst of cardio as well).  It is the perfect indoor fun companion for an energetic, two year old boy 😝

Yes, it is as goofy as it looks LOL

My husband has been waist deep in economic data and stock research, trying to figure out where the economy goes from here.

I have been hired as the designer for our new house, so I am reading nothing but my Bible, blueprints, RH catalogs, & design publications.

What are you and your crew reading this month? Have any recommendations for us? Please share your thoughts & responses below!
